Installing the launcher
How to download and install Millida Launcher on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android and what is needed to play.
Updated October 13, 2026
All files are on the download page — millida.net/launcher. The link automatically picks the right file for your system.
Windows 10 and 11
- Download the installer and run it.
- If a blue window appears saying “Windows protected your PC” — click “More info” → “Run anyway”. This is how Windows greets new files that few people have downloaded yet, even signed ones; for more details, see Security and antivirus.
- Then click “Next” — the launcher will open by itself, and a shortcut will appear in the “Start” menu.
The launcher installs updates itself: it downloads them in the background and applies them when you close the window.
macOS
- Open the downloaded
.dmgand drag Millida Launcher to the “Applications” folder. - On first launch, macOS will ask whether to open an app downloaded from the internet — click “Open”. The image is notarized by Apple. If the system says the app is “damaged”, you have an old build without a signature: download the launcher again from millida.net/launcher.
Separate versions are built for Apple Silicon (M1–M4) and Intel; the link on the website picks the right one automatically.
Linux
Download the installer and run it — it will install the AppImage to your home folder, add a shortcut to the applications menu, and open the launcher. The same in one command:
curl -fsSL https://launcher-storage.millida.net/setup/install.sh | sh
Works on Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, Bazzite, and SteamOS. The launcher installs updates itself.
Had the Flatpak version installed? It is no longer updated: remove it with the command flatpak uninstall net.millida.launcher and install the launcher again.
Android (beta)
The Android launcher is a beta version: it runs Minecraft Java Edition right on your phone.
- Open millida.net/launcher on your phone and tap “Download for Android” — an
.apkfile will be downloaded. - Open it. If Android says that installation from this source is blocked, allow it for your browser in the window that appears and return to the installation.
- Launch the launcher and sign in to your account. Java and graphics will be unpacked on the first launch of the game — once — and the launcher will download the files for the selected Minecraft version itself.
The launcher offers updates itself; if the “Update” button does not work, install the fresh file from the website over the existing one without uninstalling the app — see How to update the mobile launcher.
Requirements: Android 8.0 or newer (for Minecraft 26.3 and newer — Android 11), a 64-bit processor and system (arm64), at least 4 GB of RAM, OpenGL ES 3.0 (for shaders — ES 3.2). The launcher does not install on 32-bit phones. For more details, see Which phones are supported.
Beta limitations:
- Minecraft versions before 1.13 may not launch, and you cannot select Forge for them — see Game versions and loaders;
- catalog modpacks made only for PC and some PC mods do not work on the phone — see Mods on the phone;
- report problems from the launcher: “More” → “Settings” → “Feedback” → “Report a bug”, or write to @MillidaTeamBot.
There is no version for iPhone or iPad. On a phone without the launcher, you can play Bedrock Edition — on servers with Geyser.
More about the mobile launcher: controls, keyboard, mouse, and gamepad, black screen and crashes, memory, sign-in and transferring modpacks, skins and cosmetics, servers and friends.
What you need to play
- A 64-bit system: Windows 10 or 11, macOS 11+, Linux x86-64. For a phone — Android 8.0 or newer, arm64.
- Internet for the first installation of the game version.
- You do not need to install Java — the launcher will download the right one itself.
- A purchased Minecraft is not required; see Do you need a Minecraft license.
Where the game files are stored
In the launcher data folder; each modpack has its own subfolder. You can open it with a button in the modpack settings.
On Android, the game files are stored inside the app; the path to the modpack folder is shown in the modpack on the “Options” tab, in the “Folder” line.
How to uninstall
- Windows — “Settings” → “Apps”.
- macOS — drag the app to the Trash.
- Linux — delete the
~/.local/share/millida-launcherfolder and themillida-launcher.desktopshortcut in~/.local/share/applications.
Downloaded game versions and worlds remain in the data folder — it is deleted separately.
On Android, the launcher is uninstalled like a regular app. Along with it, Android erases modpacks, mods, and worlds: save the worlds you need as files in advance — see Transferring modpacks and worlds.
