LiteBans: punishments and a shared ban database
LiteBans configuration: temporary bans, reason templates, synchronization across a server network, and Discord notifications.
Updated August 13, 2026
LiteBans stores punishments in a database and works across the whole network at once: a ban on survival also applies in the lobby.
Commands
/ban Nick 7d Griefing
/tempmute Nick 1h Insults
/warn Nick Advertising
/kick Nick Check client
/unban Nick
/history Nick
/checkban Nick
Database
File storage is only acceptable on a single server. For a network, use MySQL: MySQL for plugins. In the config you change driver, the address, the database and the table prefix.
Reason templates
reasons:
grief: 'Griefing. Duration: 7 days'
cheat: 'Use of third-party software'
ads: 'Advertising another project'
A single list of reasons saves moderators time and puts an end to “but what for” arguments — Bans and mutes.
Permissions
Moderators get litebans.tempban, litebans.mute, litebans.kick, litebans.history. Permanent bans and unbans go to senior staff — Staff permissions.
Notifications
The plugin can post to a dedicated Discord channel via webhook: useful as a public punishment log — DiscordSRV.
Ban evasion
IP-based account linking is enabled by a setting and tells the moderator “this player has logged in from a banned player's address” — more precise than blindly banning a subnet: IP bans.
