This is a simple clientside mod that does a simple thing: Change the default behaviour of campfire emitted smoke to last longer.
To me, the default value was too low, so decided to change it. By default, it now goes about 3x higher!
It only changes the one made with hay bale below, not the default one.

Does this work on a server?
Yes, it works on servers too.
TODO:
- Make duration configurable.
- Change the dispersion algorithm to make it look better (default vanilla one doesn't scale well with altitude) Done in 1.1.0
- Maybe... add more blocks that changes different heights...

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.19–1.20.4 on Fabric or Quilt automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.20.4. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

In the version list above, pick the file smokeextender-1.5.0-FABRIC-1.19.jar (32 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Smoke Extender should be in the list.
