Hookshot is a small mod that adds a grappling hook-like tool for the player to use to get around.
Hookshot:
- Default range of 24 blocks
- Default speed of 10 blocks/s
- Aquatic Upgrade (Prismarine Shard) lets the hookshot glide through water
- Enderic Upgrade (Eye of Ender) teleports instead of pulls
- Quick Upgrade (Piston) speeds up the hook by 50%
- Long Upgrade (Chain) doubles the range
- Automatic Upgrade (Observer) automatically diconnects the hook
- Durability Upgrade (Obsidian) doubles the durability of the hookshot
- Bleed Upgrade (Arrow) causes bleeding on hooked entities

Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.16.1–1.20.1 on Fabric or Quilt automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.20.1. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file hookshot-2.1.1.jar (212 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Hookshot should be in the list.
