A client-side Fabric / Quilt mod that shows information (like enchantments) about the held item under its name.
Requires Fabric API.
The following can be displayed when holding an item:
- Enchantments
- Potion effects
- Container contents (mainly Shulker Boxes and Bundles)
- Firework attributes (flight duration, shape, color)
- Commands inside of command blocks
- Number of bees inside Bee Nests/Beehives
- Projectiles in a crossbow
- Lore
- Unbreakable tag
- Sign text
- Title of Music Discs and Disc Fragments
- Painting information (title, author, dimensions)
- Instrument of Goat Horns
- Author and generation of Written Books
- Filled map identifier
- Banner Pattern (both for banner pattern items and actual banners or shields)
- Type of tropical fish inside a bucket
Each of these can be toggled individually in-game if both Mod Menu and a recent version of Cloth Config are installed.

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.16.2–26.3 on Fabric or Quilt automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.3. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file held-item-info-1.9.3.jar (81 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile

Is Held Item Info for Forge or Fabric?
There are files for Fabric: 1.16.2–26.3 and for Quilt: 26.3. There are no files for Forge or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.
