Designed to fit into Minecraft's lore as closely as possible, while providing a more challenging early game experience and encouraging players to use powered, magical, and bioluminescent light sources.
An open source mod built for Fabric (works on Quilt, too). Requires Fabric API and owo-lib. For more in-depth information regarding the project, read the wiki 📖.

✨ Features
- 💡 Dynamic lighting is fully supported with LambDynamicLights.
- 🌧 Candles and torches will extinguish when rained on.
- ⏳ Campfires, candles, jack o' lanterns, lanterns, and torches will extinguish over time.
- 🔥 Bring unlit torches to life during your adventures with fire, lava (flowing, standing, or even in a cauldron!), or flint and steel.
- 🏊 Wading, swimming, fully submerging in water, or getting rained on can cause jack o'lanterns, lanterns, and torches to extinguish.
- 💪 Glowstone lanterns and torches for mid/late-game which are waterproof and never die out.
- 🧯 Torches, lanterns, and jack o' lanterns extinguish when stored in chests or placing in bundles.
- 👷 Villagers prevent any extinguishing in a configurable cubed radius, no more dark villages.
- 📄 Configurable with files or the settings page provided by integration with Mod Menu.
⛔ Compatibility
Should work with most mods that don't modify torches, lanterns, campfires, candles, and jack o' lanterns in an intrusive way.
- Hardcore Torches is incompatible.

With Millida Launcher
Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.21.1–26.2 on Fabric or Quilt automatically, together with its dependencies: Fabric API, oωo (owo-lib).
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.2. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file totally_lit-1.2.2+26.2.jar (192 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Fabric API, oωo (owo-lib).
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Totally Lit should be in the list.
On a server
A server on Fabric or Quilt
The mod only works on a server with the same loader and game version, for example 26.2.
File goes into the server’s mods folder
Stop the server, put the mod file into the mods folder and start the server again.
Use the “To server” button
On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.

Which Minecraft versions does Totally Lit work on?
There are files for 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1, 1.21.11, 1.21.1. The newest is 26.2.
Is Totally Lit for Forge or Fabric?
There are files for Fabric: 1.21.1–26.2 and for Quilt: 1.21.1–26.2. There are no files for Forge or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.
What does Totally Lit need to work?
Required: Fabric API, oωo (owo-lib). Without them the mod will not start: dependencies go into the same mods folder. Optional: Mod Menu.
What is Totally Lit incompatible with?
The author marks it as incompatible with Dependency: they will not run together.
Does Totally Lit work on a server?
Yes. Totally Lit works both in singleplayer and on a server.
