UltraVanilla+ Enhanced Vanilla Shaders
UltraVanilla+ makes Minecraft look better without changing what makes it feel like Minecraft. Vanilla sky, fog, and clouds stay exactly as they are. The shader adds soft shadows, warm sunlight, animated water, rain wetness, and subtle post-processing on top of the game you already know.
It was built from the ground up for extremely low-end hardware. The entire pack is 23KB. If your computer can run Minecraft with Iris, it can run this shader. Developed and tested on Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics at 50+ FPS.
Features
Soft PCF shadows with three quality tiers. Warm golden sunlight that shifts to orange at sunset and cool blue moonlight at night. Configurable torch brightness with warm amber glow. Ambient occlusion for depth in corners and under overhangs.
Animated water with four octaves of wave displacement and surface reflections. Specular highlights from the sun and moon on the water. Underwater caustics and thick blue-green fog when submerged.
Rain makes exposed ground blocks darker, more saturated, and reflective. Glass and ice get clean Fresnel reflections. Grass, flowers, and leaves sway gently in the wind.
ACES filmic tone mapping with warm day and cool night color grading. Subtle god rays, film grain, and vignette — all configurable or toggleable.
Compatibility
Works with Minecraft 1.16.5 through 1.21+ using GLSL 120 for maximum GPU support. Compatible with Iris on Fabric and OptiFine on Forge. Vanilla sky, fog, and clouds are untouched, so it works alongside other mods and resource packs.

Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the shaders for Minecraft 1.16–26.1.1 automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Iris
Without a shader mod the game cannot see shaders. Install it for the same Minecraft version.
Download the shader archive
Pick the file UltraVanilla+.zip (21 KB) and do not unpack it.
Put it in the shaderpacks folder
“Options”, then “Video Settings”, then “Shader Packs”, then “Open Shader Pack Folder”, and drag the archive there.
Select the shaders
In the same window, click the pack name and “Apply”.
