This client mod offers the ability of creating and using modpacks which ship custom settings, entries in the server list or even custom keybindings without having them overwriting your local settings every time the modpack updates. Installing the mod:
It's fairly easy to install DefaultSettings, all what you have got to do is place the mod's jar file in your installation's "mods" folder (1.6+) or place it in the "coremods" folder (1.4+).
DefaultSettings GUI:
To open the DS graphical interface, just press F7 + G either in the game's mods list or anytime when playing in a world. It's also possible to access the GUI by utilizing Forge's Mods list and the "Config" button of DefaultSettings (1.7.10+).
Important note: With Minecraft version 1.17+ Mojang entirely changed how the rendering engine of the game works. This lead to us removing the GUI on all versions beyond 1.16.5 and expanding on the featureset of the commands. The GUI might return at some point but for now, interaction with the mod is done via the revamped command system.
Hint:
And if you don't want to or can not use our graphical interface, you can also employ both the /defaultsettings and /switchprofile (only 1.16.5 and below) commands. Those two assure proper functionality - using the GUI really makes a lot of sense but for later versions (1.17+), the commands are the way to go.

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.4.7–26.3 on Forge or NeoForge automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Forge or NeoForge
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.3. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file DefaultSettings-26.1-4.0.10-NeoForge.jar (98 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: DefaultSettings should be in the list.
