Minecraft Fabric/NeoForge mod that adds sounds for drip particles landing and other related changes

- Makes all water/lava drip particles use the Dripstone drip sounds
- Configurable volume & sound category
- Adds the ability to configure the rate of drip particle spawning
- Adds options to change the max range & number of blocks that get random animation ticks
- This affects many blocks' particle effects (drips, smoke, falling leaves, fireflies, bubble columns, etc)
- Also affects some blocks' ambient sounds (fire, lava, portals, etc)
This mod is client-side, so it does not need to be installed on the server for it to work.
Requires Cloth Config.
Releases
Requires Cloth Config on all mod loaders. For Fabric, you need Mod Menu to be able to open the config screen. For (Neo)Forge, I also recommend Game Menu Mod Option so you can change settings in-game.
Usage
Feel free to use in packs if you wish.
The only official downloads are from the DripSounds GitHub, CurseForge, or Modrinth page. Be careful downloading them from elsewhere, as unauthorized reposts are not monitored and could contain malware. (If you are interested in the mod being added to another platform, please open an issue!)

Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.17–1.20.6 on Fabric, Forge or NeoForge automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric, Forge or NeoForge
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.20.6. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file Drip Sounds-0.5.2+1.20.6-NeoForge.jar (57 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Drip Sounds should be in the list.
Minecraft 1.20.6 runs on Java 21: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

There are files for 1.20.6, 1.20.5, 1.17.1, 1.17. The newest is 1.20.6.
Does Drip Sounds need other mods?
The author lists no required dependencies: the Fabric, Forge or NeoForge loader is enough.
Which Java does Drip Sounds need?
Minecraft 1.20.6 runs on Java 21. If the game closes right after launch, the usual cause is the wrong Java version in the profile settings.
