PolyBlur

PolyBlur adds motion blur to Minecraft, with three blur types to pick from.

  • Phosphor blends each frame into the next for the classic trail effect
  • Unity blurs along the direction your camera moves
  • Hybrid uses Unity for the world and Phosphor for your held item (not on 1.21.5 yet)

Other things you can do:

  • Set the blur strength for the world and for your hand separately
  • Keep your held item sharp
  • Switch between three Phosphor blending modes
  • Raise or lower the Unity sample count to trade smoothness for FPS
  • Have Unity blur while you walk too, instead of only when you turn the camera (not on 1.8.9)
  • You can use /polyblur to open your settings

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.8.9 on Ornithe.
  • Minecraft 1.21.1-26.3 on Fabric.

PolyBlur needs OneConfig and Fabric Language Kotlin.

Comment installer PolyBlur

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.8.9–26.3 on Fabric or Forge automatically, together with its dependencies: OneConfig, Fabric Language Kotlin.

  3. Launch the game

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Fabric or Forge

The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.3. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

  2. Download the file for your version

In the version list above, pick the file polyblur-2.2.8+26.3.jar (111 KB) for your game version and loader.

  3. Put it in the mods folder

The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: OneConfig, Fabric Language Kotlin.

  4. Launch the loader profile

Open “Mods” in the main menu: PolyBlur should be in the list.

PolyBlur works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.
