À propos du mod Game Stages

This mod provides a framework for creating progression systems in modpacks. These progression systems are based on stages which are player specific flags used to track their progress. Using other mods and addons you can configure the game to react differently to a player depending on the stages they have unlocked. While the term stage may imply a linear progression they can be used for virtually all types of progression systems. Some common examples of this include using stages for RPG classes and skills, Pack modes (expert, hardcore, easy), and branching quests.

For specific information on how to use GameStages, please refer to the GitHub page that matches with the version of the mod you are using. You can also join my Discord server for help and further discussion. You can find a list of all mods that support GameStages here.

Comment installer Game Stages

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 on Forge automatically, together with its dependencies: Bookshelf.

  3. Launch the game

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Forge

The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.12.2. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

  2. Download the file for your version

In the version list above, pick the file GameStages-1.12.2-2.0.123.jar (53 KB) for your game version.

  3. Put it in the mods folder

The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Bookshelf.

  4. Launch the loader profile

Open “Mods” in the main menu: Game Stages should be in the list.

On a server

  1. A server on Forge

The mod only works on a server with the same loader and game version, for example 1.12.2.

  2. File goes into the server’s mods folder

Stop the server, put the mod file into the mods folder and start the server again.

  3. Use the “To server” button

On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.

FAQ

Which Minecraft versions does Game Stages work on?

Only Minecraft 1.12.2: there are no files for other versions.

Is Game Stages for Forge or Fabric?

Only for Forge: 1.12.2. There are no files for Fabric or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.

What does Game Stages need to work?

Required: Bookshelf. Without it the mod will not start: dependencies go into the same mods folder.

Does Game Stages work on a server?

Yes. Game Stages works both in singleplayer and on a server.

Which Java does Game Stages need?

Minecraft 1.12.2 runs on Java 8. If the game closes right after launch, the usual cause is the wrong Java version in the profile settings.

Where can I download Game Stages safely?

On this page: the file GameStages-1.12.2-2.0.123.jar (53 KB) is stored on Millida’s server, with no link shorteners. SHA-1 checksum: 83b6e36d415f6679495b2c04ffe453817d43419e.
