Charmonium is a client-only mod for Minecraft (Fabric) that adds Ambient biome sound effects and Environmental sound effects.
Since it's a client-only mod, it can be used when connecting to vanilla Minecraft servers such as Realms.~~~~
- Biome-specific environment sounds for both day and night to add extra depth to the otherwise uncomfortably silent world.
- Cave sounds increase in intensity as you mine deeper, but fade as you light up the surrounding area.
- Mineshafts have wooden creaking sounds.
- Villages have some general activity sounds during the day.
- Ambient sound volume can be controlled using the "Ambient Sounds" slider in Minecraft's options.

Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.18.2–1.21 on Fabric or Quilt automatically, together with its dependencies: Fabric API.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.21. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file charmonium-fabric-1.21-7.0.0.jar (42 MB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Fabric API.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Charmonium should be in the list.
Charmonium works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.
Minecraft 1.21 runs on Java 21: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

There are files for 1.21, 1.20.2, 1.20.1, 1.19.2, 1.19, 1.18.2. The newest is 1.21.
Is Charmonium for Forge or Fabric?
There are files for Fabric: 1.18.2–1.21 and for Quilt: 1.18.2–1.20.2. There are no files for Forge or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.
What does Charmonium need to work?
