This mod adds rails on which you can shift multiple blocks back and forth. Castle gates and retractable bridges are nice examples where this could be useful.

Usage
Blockshifter Rails act similar to drawers. They can move blocks that stand over at the end of the rails. How much overhang is taken into account depends on how many empty blocks are on the other side. When you are experimenting with this mod you will probably pull out some blocks from the ground under the rails once or twice. You can prevent this by using obsidian.

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Install Fabric
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.18.1. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file blockshifter-1.4.1+fabric-1.18.jar (46 KB) for your game version.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Blockshifter [Fabric] should be in the list.
Minecraft 1.18.1 runs on Java 17: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.
