À propos du mod Ash API

An API that provides an abstraction layer between the two main Minecraft mod loaders (Fabric and NeoForge).

It is meant to be used with a multi-loader development environment such as Jared's MultiLoader-Template.

Mods using Ash API

  • Armor Visibility
  • Flourish
  • Shuffle
  • Transparent

Implemented APIs

Full documentation of all implemented APIs will be available soon. Currently, Javadocs are available within the code.

As of v1.0.0 it provides APIs for:

  • KeyMappingRegistry
  • ClientTickEvents
  • UseBlockEvent
  • ModLoader
  • ResourceLoader
  • ModOptions
  • ModOptionsScreen

A changelog is available here.

Features are currently added in order of what I need for my mods, however it is intended that Ash API will be usable by any developer using a multi-loader development environment.

Pull requests are highly appreciated. However, please discuss them in my Discord first.

Report any issues on GitHub. Chat on Discord in the #ash-api channel.

Comment installer Ash API

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.21.3–1.21.6 on Fabric, NeoForge or Quilt automatically, together with its dependencies: Fabric API.

  3. Launch the game

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Fabric, NeoForge or Quilt

The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.21.6. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

  2. Download the file for your version

In the version list above, pick the file ash_api-fabric-21.6.0-beta.jar (30 KB) for your game version and loader.

  3. Put it in the mods folder

The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Fabric API.

  4. Launch the loader profile

Open “Mods” in the main menu: Ash API should be in the list.

On a server

  1. A server on Fabric, NeoForge or Quilt

The mod only works on a server with the same loader and game version, for example 1.21.6.

  2. File goes into the server’s mods folder

Stop the server, put the mod file into the mods folder and start the server again.

  3. Use the “To server” button

On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.

Minecraft 1.21.6 runs on Java 21: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

FAQ

Which Minecraft versions does Ash API work on?

There are files for 1.21.6, 1.21.5, 1.21.4, 1.21.3. The newest is 1.21.6.

Is Ash API for Forge or Fabric?

There are files for Fabric: 1.21.3–1.21.6, for NeoForge: 1.21.3–1.21.6 and for Quilt: 1.21.3–1.21.6. There are no files for Forge: a mod for another loader will not start.

What does Ash API need to work?

Required: Fabric API. Without it the mod will not start: dependencies go into the same mods folder.

Does Ash API work on a server?

Yes. Ash API works both in singleplayer and on a server.

Which Java does Ash API need?

Minecraft 1.21.6 runs on Java 21. If the game closes right after launch, the usual cause is the wrong Java version in the profile settings.

Where can I download Ash API safely?

On this page: the file ash_api-fabric-21.6.0-beta.jar (30 KB) is stored on Millida’s server, with no link shorteners. SHA-1 checksum: f5d454d077bd0be5f914f160c6edb1296867dc6e.
