PolyNametag

PolyNametag restyles the nametags above players and other entities, and shows you your own nametag in third person.

  • Move nametags up or down, and scale them down
  • Text shadow and custom text color
  • Custom background color, rounded corners and padding, or no background at all
  • See your own nametag in third person (and in your inventory, if you want)
  • Keep nametags visible while the HUD is hidden with F1 (separate toggles for players, armor stands and everything else)
  • Hide every nametag with one switch

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.8.9 on Ornithe.
  • Minecraft 1.21.1-26.3 on Fabric.

PolyNametag needs OneConfig and Fabric Language Kotlin.

Installation von PolyNametag

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.8–26.3 on Fabric or Forge automatically, together with its dependencies: OneConfig, Fabric Language Kotlin.

  3. Launch the game

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Fabric or Forge

The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.3. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

  2. Download the file for your version

In the version list above, pick the file polynametag-1.2.4+26.3.jar (43 KB) for your game version and loader.

  3. Put it in the mods folder

The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: OneConfig, Fabric Language Kotlin.

  4. Launch the loader profile

Open “Mods” in the main menu: PolyNametag should be in the list.

PolyNametag works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.
