FastFurnace utilizes mixins to edit the functionality of the Furnace, Blast Furnace, and Smoker, improving their TPS performance (not smelting speed!)
Similar to FastWorkbench, it caches the last recipe used, and checks this recipe first before re-scanning the entire registry. This is significantly faster due to the vanilla furnace scanning the entire furnace registry each tick, which may be fine for vanilla, but in a modded environment, gets very large very quickly.
These changes apply to the Furnace, Blast Furnace, and Smoker. Any mod utilizing AbstractFurnaceTileEntity will also receive the benefits of having this mod installed.
For people who like numbers, here is Vanilla vs FastFurnace. This is 9 furnaces each smelting cobblestone the entire time the test was conducted. The number of invocations is kept roughly the same as to not skew any numbers. This test was conducted in vanilla, which only has ~70 furnace recipes. In a modpack, there could be upwards of 700, significantly increasing the performance gain.

With Millida Launcher
Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.20.1–26.1.2 on Forge or NeoForge automatically, together with its dependencies: Placebo.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Forge or NeoForge
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.1.2. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file FastFurnace-26.1.2-10.0.0.jar (4 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Placebo.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: FastFurnace should be in the list.
On a server
A server on Forge or NeoForge
The mod only works on a server with the same loader and game version, for example 26.1.2.
File goes into the server’s mods folder
Stop the server, put the mod file into the mods folder and start the server again.
Use the “To server” button
On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.

There are files for 26.1.2, 1.21.1, 1.20.1. The newest is 26.1.2.
Is FastFurnace for Forge or Fabric?
There are files for Forge: 1.20.1 and for NeoForge: 1.21.1–26.1.2. There are no files for Fabric: a mod for another loader will not start.
What does FastFurnace need to work?
Required: Placebo. Without it the mod will not start: dependencies go into the same mods folder.
Does FastFurnace work on a server?
Yes. FastFurnace works both in singleplayer and on a server.
