Bring combat to life with battle music!

Features

By default, 22 soundtracks from Minecraft Dungeons, Legends, and Story Mode are added to the game. Four of these have already been implemented:

  • The Wither: Wither Storm (Minecraft Story Mode)
  • The Warden: Necromancer (Minecraft Dungeons)
  • The Ender Dragon: Enderman (Minecraft Dungeons)
  • Elder Guardians: Ivor Fight (Minecraft Story Mode)

The music will also shift upwards in pitch when your health is low to add an extra rush of intensity in those dire moments! This is highly configurable too, for any pack developers looking to tweak how the feature works.

Mod Support

Also comes pre-packaged with support for numerous mods, including but not limited to:

  • L_Ender's Cataclysm (Replaces their provided OST)
  • Twilight Forest
  • Mowzie's Mobs (Uses their provided OST composed by Rotch Gwylt)
  • Alex's Mobs
  • Alex's Caves (Replaces their provided OST for the Luxtructosaurus)
  • Iron's Spells & Spellbooks (Incomplete)
  • Bosses of Mass Destruction
  • Aether (Disables in favor of their boss music)
  • Mutant Monsters

Any mods that have their OST replaced can be set back to their own OST by putting the sound ID to said OST in the config file instead of the one I have set by default.

Modpack Developers

Using the configuration file, you can add your own custom battle music to any mob in-game. There's also an option to provide default battle music for all hostile entities in the game! See below for a preview:

Entites and their respective songs, write in entity;song;priority format

> entity = the entity's ID, eg. "minecraft:pig"

> song = the song's ID, eg. "battlemusic:mini1"

> priority = what precedence this song takes over other entity's music,

eg. a priority of 1 will fade out and play over a priority of 0.

entities_songs = ["somemod:someentity;battlemusic:redstone_monstrosity;3", "minecraft:husk;battlemusic:kermetic;1"]

A generic battle song to play for any other undefined hostile entity

> Leave blank for no default battle music

default_song = "battlemusic:mini1"

Hi! If you like my projects it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate! Even just 5$ would help. See the Ko-Fi link in the side panel. Thank you!

Installation von Battle Music

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.19.3–1.21.1 on Forge or NeoForge automatically.

  3. Launch the game

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Forge or NeoForge

The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.21.1. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

  2. Download the file for your version

In the version list above, pick the file battlemusic-1.2.2.jar (108 MB) for your game version and loader.

  3. Put it in the mods folder

The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.

  4. Launch the loader profile

Open “Mods” in the main menu: Battle Music should be in the list.

Battle Music works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.

Minecraft 1.21.1 runs on Java 21: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

FAQ

Which Minecraft versions does Battle Music work on?

There are files for 1.21.1, 1.21, 1.20.1, 1.20, 1.19.4, 1.19.3. The newest is 1.21.1.

Is Battle Music for Forge or Fabric?

There are files for Forge: 1.19.3–1.21 and for NeoForge: 1.21.1. There are no files for Fabric: a mod for another loader will not start.

Does Battle Music need other mods?

The author lists no required dependencies: the Forge or NeoForge loader is enough.

Do I need to install Battle Music on a server?

No. Battle Music works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.

Which Java does Battle Music need?

Minecraft 1.21.1 runs on Java 21. If the game closes right after launch, the usual cause is the wrong Java version in the profile settings.
