When installing for Minecraft 1.19.2, backup and delete the 'puffish_skills' config folder. This is required for Simply Skills to generate files. (Not needed for 1.20+ versions)
Features
Simply Skills provides a combat oriented skill tree for Fabric, complete with unique passive skills, specialisations, and signature abilities.
Driven by a vision to enrich combat encounters within Minecraft, Simply Skills harnesses the power of the Spell Engine & Spell Power Attributes framework (created by Daedelus). By adopting this framework, players are empowered with distinctive skill sets that enable them to stand out among their peers and fully immerse themselves in the class fantasy they desire.
- Passive Skills -
Unlike the typical stat increase nodes on the tree, Passive Skills provide you with unique passive abilities that alter game mechanics in unique and meaningful ways.
- Specialisations -
Specialisations can be unlocked by working your way through the base skill tree, until you reach a specialisation path. Once a specialisation path has been chosen, you will unlock an additional seperate skill tree that contains abilities and skills unique to your chosen specialisation. You may only have one specialisation unlocked at a time.
- Signature Abilities -
Signature Abilities, unlocked by advancing to a specialisation path, provide you with unique active abilities that can help to turn the tide of battle. These abilities can often be further enhanced and customised via passive nodes in the relevant specialisation skill tree. Due to their power, these abilities have an internal cooldown. (default keybind 'V')
- Respecialisation -
Your base skill tree can be reset by using a Malevolent Manuscript. This will refund all points spent in the tree. If you have a specialisation unlocked at the time of use, this will also erase all points spent within the specialisation tree. The points lost will be gone forever, so choose carefully.

Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric automatically, together with its dependencies: Spell Power Attributes, Cloth Config API, Pufferfish's Attributes, Dependency, Pufferfish's Skills.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.20.1. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file simplyskills-1.7.2+1.20.1.jar (15 MB) for your game version.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Spell Power Attributes, Cloth Config API, Pufferfish's Attributes, Dependency, Pufferfish's Skills.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Simply Skills should be in the list.
On a server
A server on Fabric
The mod only works on a server with the same loader and game version, for example 1.20.1.
File goes into the server’s mods folder
Stop the server, put the mod file into the mods folder and start the server again.
Use the “To server” button
On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.
Minecraft 1.20.1 runs on Java 17: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

Which Minecraft versions does Simply Skills work on?
Only Minecraft 1.20.1: there are no files for other versions.
Is Simply Skills for Forge or Fabric?
Only for Fabric: 1.20.1. There are no files for Forge or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.
What does Simply Skills need to work?
Required: Spell Power Attributes, Cloth Config API, Pufferfish's Attributes, Dependency, Pufferfish's Skills. Without them the mod will not start: dependencies go into the same mods folder. Which Java does Simply Skills need?
