A lightweight mod that cleans old, unused log files.
The best thing is that this mod keeps files not based on creation date, but the most recent access (of any kind) to the file, so logs that are still being accessed for whatever reason are not removed unwillingly.
It works both client-side only and server-side only, and works in every Minecraft version.
By default, it will clean logs that haven't been used in more than 14 days, so there's plenty of time in case you ever need them for debugging, but you can configure it to any amount of days you want.
Configuration
You can find the mod's configuration file in config/logcleaner.json. There's two options you can change in there:
- daysOld: The number of days a log has to have been unused in order for it to be deleted. Defaults to 14
- silent: If set to true, Log Cleaner will not send a message with the amount of deleted log files to the log. Defaults to false

Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.14–26.2 on Fabric or Quilt automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.2. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file logcleaner-1.0.0.jar (5 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Log Cleaner should be in the list.
On a server
A server on Fabric or Quilt
The mod only works on a server with the same loader and game version, for example 26.2.
File goes into the server’s mods folder
Stop the server, put the mod file into the mods folder and start the server again.
Or use the “To hosting” button
On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.

Which Minecraft versions does Log Cleaner work on?
There are files for 1.14–26.2, 47 versions in total. The newest is 26.2.
Is Log Cleaner for Forge or Fabric?
There are files for Fabric: 1.14–26.2 and for Quilt: 1.14–26.2. There are no files for Forge or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.
Does Log Cleaner need other mods?
The author lists no required dependencies: the Fabric or Quilt loader is enough.
Does Log Cleaner work on a server?
Yes. Log Cleaner works both in singleplayer and on a server.
