Trick or Treat is a multiplayer-focused mod that adds various mob-themed candies to the game, each with unique and fun effects! During the month of October, many mobs have a chance of dropping goodie bags that contain rare candy. Opening the bags on your own will give you 1 candy, but if you trade them to a friend, it will yield double the candy!
🍬Candies:
Firefingers (Blaze) - Player can set mobs on fire by hitting them Fizzlers (Creeper) - Causes an explosion that damages nearby enemies and launches player into the air (does not break blocks) Deadish Fish (Drowned) - Gives player a riptide effect, letting them bolt through water Pearl Pops (Enderman) - Teleports player to where they are looking Screambursts (Ghast) - Makes mobs run away from the player Eye-ce Cream (Guardian) - Gives player haste and swiftness Membrane Butter Cups (Phantom) - Player can steal health from enemies after damaging them Bonebreakers (Skeleton) - Hitting mobs gives them a paralyzed effect, which freezes them in place for a few seconds Slime Gum (Slime) - The player becomes bouncy Chocolate Covered Spider Eye (Spider) - The player can climb walls Sour Patch Zombies (Zombie) - Player can convert villagers to zombies by hitting them
IMPORTANT: Since this is a seasonal mod, it is not a project I expect to work on consistently in the long term. Therefore, do not expect many updates past the submission deadline of October 20th.

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.16.5–1.17.1 on Fabric or Forge automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric or Forge
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.17.1. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file trickortreat-FABRIC-1.17.1-1.0.2.jar (91 KB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Trick or Treat should be in the list.
Minecraft 1.17.1 runs on Java 16: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

Which Minecraft versions does Trick or Treat work on?
There are files for 1.17.1, 1.16.5. The newest is 1.17.1.
Is Trick or Treat for Forge or Fabric?
There are files for Fabric: 1.17.1 and for Forge: 1.16.5. There are no files for NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.
Does Trick or Treat need other mods?
The author lists no required dependencies: the Fabric or Forge loader is enough.
Which Java does Trick or Treat need?
Minecraft 1.17.1 runs on Java 16. If the game closes right after launch, the usual cause is the wrong Java version in the profile settings.
How do I download Trick or Treat?
