Desenvolvedores de modpacks: o suporte para criar seus livros através de arquivos JSON está em desenvolvimento.
Os livros são mantidos pelo Guide-API (ele os registra, os coloca em sua própria aba criativa, etc.)
Tudo o que o autor faz é nos enviar as informações e nós cuidamos do resto.

A partir da build 2.1.0-51 para a versão 1.11.2 do Minecraft (lançada em 22 de março de 2017), a licença foi alterada de MMPLv2 para MIT. Qualquer build anterior a essa ainda usa MMPLv2, que você pode ver aqui.

Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.12–1.12.2 automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file Guide-API-1.12-2.1.8-63.jar (166 KB) for your game version.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: Guide-API should be in the list.
Minecraft 1.12.2 runs on Java 8: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.
