They add physically based lighting, detailed shadows and reflections, realistic water with refraction and underwater ray effects, as well as god ray effects, light rays through clouds. The Sun and Moon look believable, with changing brightness and color palette depending on the time of day. Special attention is paid to the Nether: here the lighting, color palette and textures are improved to look more organic. The shaders are used in combination with OptiFine or Iris, but do not work in the standard version of the game without them.
The shaders are compatible with Minecraft from 1.12.2 to 26.2, including the 1.18, 1.19, 1.20, 1.21 branches and 26.1, 26.2.
