FAQ

How do I know if a Minecraft server is up?

Enter the server address in the form on this page and choose the edition. If the server is running, you will see the “Online” status, the player count, the slot limit, the version, the MOTD and the response time. If not — “Not responding”.

Why doesn’t a server respond even though my friends play on it?

Most often the edition is wrong: a Java server doesn't answer a Bedrock check and vice versa. The second reason is a non-standard port: add it after a colon, for example play.example.ru:25566.

What is the default Minecraft server port?

Java Edition uses 25565, Bedrock Edition uses 19132. If no port is given, the check uses the default for the selected edition.

What is a server MOTD?

MOTD (message of the day) is the description line a server shows in the game's server list. Owners put the project name and game mode there, and often a wipe or event announcement. We show § code colors the same way they look in the game.

Why is the player list empty while the online count is above zero?

A server shares its player list voluntarily: most cores show only a few nicknames, and some projects turn this output off entirely. The player count stays correct though.

Can I check a server that isn’t in your catalog?

Yes, the check works for any address — the request goes straight to the server. If we do have a card for it, a link to it with reviews and online history appears next to the result.

Is the check paid or does it need registration?

No. The tool is free and works without registration; the only limit is a reasonable number of checks per minute from one address.
