How to tame Axolotl in Minecraft
An axolotl cannot be "tamed", but you can catch it with a bucket of water and carry it with you: point the bucket at the axolotl — it will end up inside. Axolotls help in underwater combat and attack hostile aquatic mobs.

- Bucket of Tropical Fish (for breeding)
Step by step
- Find an axolotl in dark underwater caves (below water level).
- Fill a bucket with water and right-click the axolotl — it will go into the bucket.
- Pour it into a body of water at home; axolotls are bred with a bucket of tropical fish.
If an axolotl helped you kill an enemy, it gives the Regeneration effect. They "play dead" when damaged.
