About the Shield By Side resource pack
I've always been a little bothered by the fact that the shield isn't held the same way between 1st and 3rd person. So I went and repositioned the 1st person view model to be more in-line with how it's held in 3rd person! And as a bonus feature: the shield now takes up less screen real-estate!

Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the resource pack for Minecraft 1.9–26.3 automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Download the archive
Pick the file Shield By Side 1.3.zip (8 KB) for your game version. No need to unpack it.
Put it in the resourcepacks folder
The easiest way: “Options”, then “Resource Packs”, then “Open Pack Folder”, and drag the archive there.
Enable the pack
In the same window, move the pack to the right-hand “Selected” column and click “Done”.
