Dynamic Light Shader

A simple baseline shader that glows/emits light from held items in your hand. Light color based on the item you are holding (torch, lantern, glowstone, redstone, soul items, etc.).

You can disable(0)/enable(1) the held_color_light from shader pack settings

How to install Dynamic Light Shader

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

The launcher opens and installs the shaders for Minecraft 1.17–1.21.10 automatically.

  3. Launch the game

A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Iris or OptiFine

Without a shader mod the game cannot see shaders. Install it for the same Minecraft version.

  2. Download the shader archive

Pick the file Dynamic-Light-Shader.zip (36 KB) and do not unpack it.

  3. Put it in the shaderpacks folder

“Options”, then “Video Settings”, then “Shader Packs”, then “Open Shader Pack Folder”, and drag the archive there.

  4. Select the shaders

In the same window, click the pack name and “Apply”.
