rainbow glow squids, allays and slimes - make your world gorgeous!
discord | github | modrinth | curseforge
overview
Rainglow changes the colours of your glow squids, slimes, and allays, giving them all the colours of the rainbow! It also includes configurability through different modes, including pride modes! Make your world gorgeous.
features
- 15+ different available colours!
- lightweight and removable - after removing the mod, your glow squids will simply revert to blue with no damage to your save file
- server sync - the configuration file can be synced from the server to the client, meaning that all players on your server will use the same options. documentation on this can be found here
- custom modes - modes are data-driven, meaning that you can create your own modes and add them to the game! documentation on this can be found here
fully configurable!
- you can set different modes, such as rainbow, monochrome, pride modes, and many more!
- each entity can be toggled off through the config
- create your very own custom mode through a gui
- documentation on this can be found here
server-side optional!
This mod does not need to be installed on the server to function! It works from the client side, so you can install it on your client and play on any server without needing to ask the server owner to install it. However, without a server installation glow squids will forget their colours when you leave the world and get new random ones when you rejoin. Colours cannot be synced between players without installing rainglow on the server.

How to install rainglow
With Millida Launcher
Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.19–1.21.4 on Fabric or Quilt automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install Fabric or Quilt
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.21.4. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file rainglow-1.3.6+mc1.21.4.jar (1.2 MB) for your game version and loader.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: rainglow should be in the list.
Minecraft 1.21.4 runs on Java 21: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.
