What is DropConfirm, exactly?
DropConfirm is a configurable quality-of-life mod that adds a confirmation dialog when dropping items. I made it because I was tired of accidentally dropping my items to other players or into lava/voids.
I use this mod personally, and I wanted to share it with others because I've noticed that a lot of my friends have had this exact problem (and I assume others have too).
Compatibility
DropConfirm actively supports all major versions from 1.14.4 onward, with the help of Stonecutter and Modstitch.
Configuration
- Enable:
- Whether or not to enable DropConfirm.
- Play Sounds:
- Whether or not to play sounds when doing various actions related to DropConfirm, e.g.:
- Enabling/Disabling
- Dropping items
- Reset Delay:
- Amount of time (in seconds) before the confirmation status is reset.
- Blacklist
- Allows for disabling the confirmation prompt on certain items.
- Can also be used like a whitelist instead.
- Confirmation Mode
- The mode to be used for displaying the confirmation prompt.
- Options: Actionbar (default), chat, popup.
How to install DropConfirm
With Millida Launcher
Install Millida Launcher
The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.
Click “Install” on this page
The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.20.5–26.3 on NeoForge automatically.
Launch the game
A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.
Manually
Install NeoForge
The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 26.3. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.
Download the file for your version
In the version list above, pick the file drop_confirm-6.2.0.jar (1.7 MB) for your game version.
Put it in the mods folder
The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it.
Launch the loader profile
Open “Mods” in the main menu: DropConfirm should be in the list.
DropConfirm works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.
