About the CustomHud mod

CustomHud is a highly configurable variable-based text HUD. While there's mods that also add text HUDS or allow you to customize the F3 debug screen, they aren't fully customizable, their customization is mostly limited to colors and if a line/module is displayed or not. CustomHud allows you to put the data exactly where you want (in addition to full color support, including hex), and it does it with a "variable" type system.

In the profile file you write what you want to see and use "variables" like {fps}, {version}, {block_x}, etc where you want them to be. There's also a feature called conditionals, which allows you to change what's displayed depending on the output of certain variables. Documentation and in-depth examples of variables and conditionals can be found in the wiki.

Here's a full example:

The config that produced it:

Minecraft {version} ({client_version}) &a{fps}&f/{max_fps} fps {{vsync, "(vsync)", ""}} &cX&aY&bZ: &c{bx} &a{by} &b{bz} Facing: &a{facing}&f (&a{yaw}&f, &a{pitch}&f) Looking {{tbx, "at {tbx} {tby} {tbz}", "into the abyss"}}

Mem: &a{memory_used_percentage}%&f of {total_memory}MiB, &a{allocated_percentage}%&f allocated {{tps, "&a{tps}&f tps (&a{ms_ticks}&f ms ticks)", ""}}

{{nether, "Overworld:", "Nether:"}}&a {nx} {nz} Time: &a{real_time:HH:mm}

For a look at all of the features that CustomHud offers, like putting info on all 4 corners, changing the background color, a better look on variables and conditionals, and more, check out the project's wiki.

This is a Fabric Mod, there's no plans for a Forge port, but the license allows you to port it yourself if you wish.

How to install CustomHud

With Millida Launcher

  1. Install Millida Launcher

    The launcher is free: download it at millida.net/launcher and sign in with any nickname.

  2. Click “Install” on this page

    The launcher opens and installs the mod for Minecraft 1.21.4–1.21.10 on Fabric automatically, together with its dependencies: Fabric API.

  3. Launch the game

    A profile with it appears in the launcher: click “Play”.

Manually

  1. Install Fabric

    The loader must match the game version of the mod file, for example Minecraft 1.21.10. After installing it, a separate profile appears in your launcher.

  2. Download the file for your version

    In the version list above, pick the file custom_hud-4.1.3+1.21.9.jar (561 KB) for your game version.

  3. Put it in the mods folder

    The folder is inside .minecraft (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods). If it does not exist, create it. Required dependencies go there too: Fabric API.

  4. Launch the loader profile

    Open “Mods” in the main menu: CustomHud should be in the list.

CustomHud works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.

Minecraft 1.21.10 runs on Java 21: with a different Java version the game may close right after launch.

FAQ

Which Minecraft versions does CustomHud work on?

Only for Fabric: 1.21.4–1.21.10. There are no files for Forge or NeoForge: a mod for another loader will not start.

What does CustomHud need to work?

Required: Fabric API. Without it the mod will not start: dependencies go into the same mods folder. Optional: Mod Menu.

Do I need to install CustomHud on a server?

No. CustomHud works on the player’s side only: there is no need to install it on a server.

Which Java does CustomHud need?

Minecraft 1.21.10 runs on Java 21. If the game closes right after launch, the usual cause is the wrong Java version in the profile settings.
