MODPACK IS BACK UNDER DEVELOPMENT AFTER A RATHER LONG BREAK

  • If updating to 2.0+ from a previous version be cautious as many things changed *

General Idea

This modpack was designed to skip all of the early skyblock grind by adding some custom mods to do with resource generation. The general idea is easy infinite ore generation. Base ore materials will not be an issue, processing lines are the focus. Right from the start you have a platform with everything you need to start generating ores and resources, and even an AE2 Crafting Terminal (with item and fluid storage ready) and Angel Ring! GregTechCEu Modern is one of the only large content mods added. Almost all of the "hard mode" configs have been enabled (no pollution by default) but other than that basically no GregTech recipes have been altered. Quests are present to show progression and offer some basic rewards like Cables, crafting components, Conveyors, and things like that. Quests are mostly fleshed out until around the IV age but start to drop off in helpfulness around there (for now). A handful of custom multiblocks exist, some are buffed versions of single blocks that were missing a multiblock, some are early game steam age multiblocks to help with early processing, some are buffed versions of things from other mods, some are just silly, and some are rather unique.

Some people tend not to like energy generation from IV age and up, if you want there is Advanced Generators in the pack that becomes available in the IV age and works with all of GregTech fuel types. You can use that if you would like, but GregTech energy generation will always be stronger and more viable in the end.

Additional Mods

While there are other mods present, there are not too many large content mods other than GregTechCEu Modern. Applied Energistics 2 is an obvious one along with a decent amount of addon mods to make AE2 as helpful as possible. While you do start with an ME Crafting Terminal and a stocked ME Drive, the only real gating present for AE2 is an LV Assembler for the Presses, and an LV Autoclave for the AE2 specific Certus Quartz Crystals. The only other recipe changes for AE2 are things to help, not to gate access.

There are quite a few building and QOL mods like Xtones: Reworked, Framed Blocks, Building Gadgets, Mob Grinding Utilities, EnderTanks, EnderChests, and more. There really isn't any other tech mods but there are some gadgets and logistics choices. Modular Routers, XNet, LaserIO and EnderIO's conduits (now with working speed upgrades!) have been added to help with logistics. Custom recipes have been added to make a skyblock pack work better where necessary. Most recipes for additional mods (except AE2 and addons) have been altered to fit GregTech better, with heavy use of the Assembler and other GT machines.

A handful of resource packs and shaders are included in the pack, a personal suggestion is to enable the Dramatic Skys, GregTech: Refreshed, and Tech RPG Font resource packs, and some shaders behave odd with certain things (AE2 drive lights flickering/LaserIO beams with bloom effects) but VanillaPlus Shader tends to play well with things.

Resource Generation

A few custom mods have been made to introduce a new start to a skyblock, mainly Simple Sky Resource Generators. The main idea is to use the Random Ore Generator to obtain 1 of each ore, then use those ores to generate more of that ore type without consuming the ore used to generate them. You will start off manually mining blocks being generated in the world but once you have steel you pretty much won't need to mine anymore, and have an automated item generator instead. Ores were meant to be the least of your worries. Progression and automation should be the only thing on your mind. With these blocks you can easily have an infinite ore generator feeding into whatever machines necessary to have completely passive automation for anything you wish. While the Random Ore Generator may seem hectic at first, you only need 1 raw ore of a material to start generating that ore.

A rather large number of building blocks can also be infinite, with the use of an easily obtainable block, the Infinite Block Generator, to infinitely generate certain building blocks. Most stone/dirt/terracotta/concrete types are included and some others like some blocks from Factory Blocks, Artemis' Laboratory Blocks, Xtones Reworked, and more.

Easy Villagers and Easy Piglins can help with a variety of odd resources with Auto Traders available.

Need mobs? Spawners are craftable (and upgradable) and Spawn Eggs are purchasable at the Market block. Normal mob farms are always an option, Mob Grinding Utilities is another, and a multiblock mob farm simulation is another.

You can find more information on basic resource generation using the Simple Sky Resources mod in the following wiki link, Sky Greg wiki - Resource Generation.

Go Go GregTech!

This modpack is a work in progress, expect updates, changes, issues, and so on.

The quest book is incomplete and constantly being worked on. Most of the quest book is together but it still needs some work, the earlier ages are put together well and rather informative but the later ages need work. However by that point you should have a rather good understanding of what is going on and what to do.

Note that I have no affiliation with any server hosting platforms, do so at your own choice if you want, but do not report server hosting issues to my end, and the modpack descriptions are often wildy inaccurate and confusing. If you have your own server running without server hosting platforms I may be able to help with some things but not guaranteed.

  1. Use the “To server” button

On Millida Hosting, the button at the top of the page uploads the file to your server and restarts it for you.

  2. Invite friends: they install the same modpack
