Velocity

A higher performance fork of Mellow Shaders for every modern Minecraft version.

This project results in a remarkable framerate for the actual image quality and shader quality itself, and is certainly amoung the more optimized shader choices.

Per the original author's request, this project has been named Velocity instead of Mellow: Reimagined, so if you dig through the files and see references to it, this is why. I didn't see the file until the end of development nearing release.

Best Pairing

There are many choices you can make for the ideal graphics and performance balance, among the more popular choices is the Fabulously Optimized modpack, one of the top, if not the top, modpacks here on Modrinth. However, despite the Fabulously Optimized modpack featuring nearly unrivaled performance over vanilla, some prefer Remarkably Optimized (the one I used while developing this)

If your running this on integrated graphics, disable water reflections, set the profile from custom to Potato, disable dynamic shadows and lighting, and if you want to be extra cautious, disable the sun rays and bloom.

My Systems Specs

It's not fair to say this is the most performant shader out there without honestly listing my specs here, for all to see When I started this project (version 10 and below) I had an PNY NVIDIA Quadro P2200 5GB Workstation Card. Current Specs:

• NVIDIA RTX 3080 FE 10GB
• Intel Core i9-10940X 3.3GHz CPU
• 64 GB DDR4 2600
• Samsung 990 Pro 2TB

My memory is particularly slowing this down, so you can easily outperform me even with a weaker CPU or GPU given my memory bottleneck. Any DDR5 build should perform significantly better and hit up to 500 FPS on max
